THE Chantz Scott KIA “PERFECT KEY” CHALLENGE

OFFICIAL RULES: THE CHANTZ SCOTT KIA “PERFECT KEY” CHALLENGE

1. ELIGIBILITY

  • Age/ID: Participants must be 18 years or older with a valid government-issued Driver’s License.
  • Waiver: All participants must sign a standard liability waiver prior to the event.
  • Exclusions: Board members and employees of Sullivan County Tennessee Fair or Chantz Scott Kia and the specific individuals involved in selecting/hiding the winning key are not eligible to participate.

2. TICKETING & ENTRY

  • Ticket Cost: $50.00 per key.
  • Ticket Limit: A maximum of 500 tickets will be sold.
  • Key Assignment: Upon arrival at the event check-in, ticket holders will draw a random “Key Number” or reach into a blind bag to select a physical key. This selection is final; no trading of keys is permitted.

3. MINIMUM THRESHOLD & PRIZE CONTINGENCY

  • The Goal: To unlock the Vehicle Prize ([Year, Make, Model]), a minimum of 250 tickets must be sold by 11 PM on May 28th, 2026.
  • Goal MET: If the minimum is met, the “Perfect Key” game proceeds with the car as the prize.
  • Goal NOT MET (50/50 Split): If the minimum ticket threshold is not met, the car is withdrawn. The event converts to a 50/50 Cash Raffle. The “Perfect Key” game will not be played, instead we will draw a random name from the entries and the winner will receive 50% of the net ticket sales in cash. The remaining 50% benefits Sullivan County Fair and its foundations.

4. THE GAMEPLAY (The “Treasure Chest”)

  • The Setup: The official Vehicle Key is locked inside a security box (The Box) secured by a single padlock.
  • The Keys: There are 5,000 keys in circulation. Only one (1) key opens the padlock. All other keys are “dummies” that will not turn the lock.
  • The Line-Up: Participants will line up in order of their Ticket number.
  • The Attempt:
    1. When called, the participant approaches The Box and selects a key.
    2. They insert their key into the padlock and attempt to turn it.
    3. If it opens: They are declared the Grand Prize Winner immediately. The contest ends.
    4. If it does not open: The participant is eliminated. They must step aside, and the next person in line steps up.

5. THE “UNCLAIMED KEY”.

  • Scenario 1 Goal Met: If every participant has tried their key and the box remains locked (meaning the winning key was not drawn/sold), a Second Chance Drawing will occur immediately. (2nd chance key prices are double since the odds have changed). If still no winner we will convert to a 50/50 drawing.
  • Scenario 2 Goal Not Met If it is a 50/50 split game after all keys are drawn and there is no winner, we will draw at random from a closed bag a name from the list of the contestants.

6. THE WINNER & LIABILITIES

  • Taxes: The Winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the value of the prize (IRS Form W-2G or 1099 may be issued).
  • Transfer: The Winner is responsible for vehicle registration, title transfer fees, and insurance starting from the moment of possession.
  • Publicity: By participating, the Winner grants Sullivan County Tennessee Fair or Chantz Scott Kia permission to use their name and image for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
